Why is my cat breathing so fast?

If your cat has developed a noticeably higher breathing rate that persists we recommend visiting a vet, this is a rate higher than 15-30 breaths per minute (the "normal" rate). It can be caused by low oxygen levels, anaemia, asthma and a few other rare illnesses.
